Urban Education

We create and design the city as an open space of education by combining urban development and pedagogy. The ability of consciously perceiving environment and analyzing its effects ensures active participation and identification. Throughout democratic processes of education, we want our participants to critically question powers of planning and develop consciousness of urban locations, whether they are classrooms, schoolyards, parks or public spaces.

Tours

We offer guided tours across the colourful quarter of Freiimfelde. Every group lays the focus on something different – from artistic topics to urban planning or civic engagement, everthing is possible.

Workshops & Education-Projects

No matter, if three hours, a whole day or week – our offers reach from graffiti workshops or participative wall paintings to the modelling of future playgrounds. We like to create individual offers.

Educational Sites

With our spatial development concepts we contribute to the sustainable redesign of schools and educational sites. Within creative participation processes, we develop the future schoolyard with its pupils, visualize digital spatial models and craft collectively useable furniture for the interior and exterior.

Summer School

In cooperation with the Wall & Space e.V., in 2019 we organized the first Summer School in Freiimfelde. During the one week long holiday program, we and two dozen teenager took the chance to see, how we could transform cities: Where are niches and open spaces, and what do we want to do with them? Who do we have to ask, or should we maybe just go for it? How do we get help? In short: how do we make our city more green, colorful, liveable?

Villa

In concepts for educational and neighbourhood houses, such as the one for the Freiraumvilla in Freiimfelde, we start with a needs and potential analysis, locate the facility in the region and set up an overall concept adapted to the location and objectives from the spatial concept to the time schedule.

Cube

Two schools, one focussing on special needs kids, wished for an walkable, playable „readscape“ in their schools’ yards. We developed a reading cube which is both sturdy enough to meet safety requirements for schools, while also providing an adaptive framework for the further projects of teachers and students. The cube was built by the kids in a three day workshop!
